These stunning fine silk wraps are designed using a traditional textile technique that is typical of the state of Rajasthan in India. Bandani is otherwise known as tie-and-dye, indigenous handwork where the silk is bound and tied with string all over the cloth in order to give the required design. When it is dyed it picks up the colours around the areas of the fabric that have been tied accordingly. This is a wonderful symbol of the type of textile design which continues to depict a place and time, it is still a traditional method of cloth design that the ladies of Rajasthan continue to wear today.
